Kimberly Carter is a New York native, raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She started dancing at a young age, receiving training in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and contemporary. Also, while in High School she joined the dance company. Kimberly recently graduated from the Armstrong campus of Georgia Southern University with a degree in Psychology, where she was also Captain of the Golden Dream dance team there. While trying to develop a career in the field of Psychology, Kimberly’s passion for dance continues to thrive. Over the years, she has taught dance at summer camps, mentorship programs and was a guest instructor for several schools in the Metro Atlanta area. She truly enjoys sharing her gift of dance to others, but especially to young dancers eager perfect that talent.
Founder, Artistic Director
Born and raised in Wayzata, Minnesota, Shara Jackson has more than 25 years of dance training experience and 8 years of producing experience. She danced on the renowned national championship University of Minnesota dance team, while graduating with a BA in Journalism. Her love for entertainment took her to Los Angeles, CA where she spent 6 years working as a creative director for Star Education non-profit organization, focusing on quality performing arts curriculum and enrichment. She quickly found a home performing with KidTribe, kids fitness organization, where she worked with Nickelodeon Day of Play, Girls Scouts Corporate and performed at the White House for 4 consecutive years, for Michelle Obamas “Let’s Move" initiative. She has made TV appearances for; Beyonce, Glee, Radio Disney, Pepsi, and the Superbowl pre-show. She currently performs choreography for the Aveda National Hair Congress and continues to make her mark in the entertainment industry. Shara created SDP to give young aspiring performing artists a supportive and positive space where their talents are celebrated and elevated.
Classical Ballet, Acrobatics
Emily Glass, is a graduate of Georgia College and State University where she studied dance, music, and education at Georgia College and State University. Glass was trained in dance in the Atlanta area in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, and musical theatre. In addition to her diverse dance background education, she was also involved in several theatre productions through her university, including Chicago and Cabaret. Her goal is to pass on her love of dance and performance to all of her students! Glass is a triple threat with an amazing passion and commitment to performing arts education and is thrilled be apart of SDP!
